BM-MSC

Operation of CellEffic BM

CellEffic BM requires just four easy to follow steps for separation and harvesting of BM-MSCs, which can be done in app. 20 minutes with minimal operator hands-on time.

The four steps are:

  1. PRIMING: Prime the filter with 0.9 % NaCl solution.
  2. PROCESSING: Process the human bone marrow (BM) fluid (1 - 30 mL; appropriately anticoagulated) over the filter just by gravity. This step eliminates the need for centrifugation.
  3. WASHING: Wash the filter with 0.9 % NaCl solution to get rid of even more red blood cells (RBCs).
  4. HARVESTING: Harvest the – among other cells – mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) into the cell harvest bag by applying 50mL cell harvest solution (either cell culture medium containing serum for subsequent culturing of the cells or 0.9 % NaCl solution can be used).

Of note, the whole procedure, step 1 to 4, is done without centrifugation and, additionally, without the use of a density centrifugation media.

Only minimal training of the operator is required.
